Studio-2

In 2021 I decided it was time to upgrade from Studio-1, made with a PVC frame and duvets, to something more effective and consistent. I researched popular brands of fabricated booths, looked at DIY plans, and explored converting my garage. I decided to use a room in my home and create Studio-2. After thorough research I contacted the fine folks at Kube Sound Isolation Ltd in Yorkshire, UK and placed an order for their Silver double-walled booth as the heart of my new studio.

Professional and Reliable

Inside the booth are 118mm thick GIK Acoustic panels to absorb reflections and reverberation. The coverage creates a perfect blend of live and dead sound. This ensures broadcast-ready recordings every time.

  • Sennheiser 416 shotgun mic
  • Rode NT1 large condenser diaphram mic
  • Solid State Logic 12 audio interface
  • beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro close-backed headphones
  • Macbook M2 on the latest Mac OS
  • Reaper DAW
  • Hard-wired ethernet to super-fast broadband

Inspiring Creativity

Even though the look of the studio has no affect on the sound, I created a space that can inspire my creativity – and that absolutely boosts my performance. It’s my haven away for the day-to-day world. Inside the booth or editing at the desk, I’m able to focus on giving my clients what they need.
